Using Bloodstone Worry Stone for Meditation

The worry stones are a great size and shape for working into your meditation routine. I generally prefer to lie down when using my worry stone set with meditation so that I can easily place each on it’s corresponding Chakra. For the Bloodstone, you would work with your Root Chakra (see diagram below for location.)

  • Howlite (White with grey marbling) for Crown Chakra
  • Amethyst (Purple) for Third Eye,
  • Blue Goldstone (Deep Blue with Copper flecks throughout) for Throat Chakra,
  • Rose Quartz (Light Pink) for Heart Chakra,
  • Red Tiger’s Eye (Varying Browns with Striped Pattern) for Solar Plexus Chakra,
  • Carnelian (Burnt Orange with possible white streaks) for Sacral Chakra, and
  • Bloodstone (Moss Green with flecks of red) for Root Chakra.
Chakra locations incluidng crown chakra, third eye chakra, throat chakra, heart chakra, solar plexus chakra, sacral chakra and root chakra

Place your Bloodstone worry stone on your Root Chakra as you prepare to relax for you meditation. For the Root Chakra, rather than placing on top of my body, I generally will place at the base of my spine underneath me when lying down.

I generally use these while listening to a guided meditation for chakra balancing. Again, with the Bloodstone, your would want to work with your Root Chakra. Here is a link to a guided meditation that I recommend as a good start for beginners working with their Root Chakra. As you follow the meditation imagine any colors or lights during the meditation, take it to the next level by imaging that color and light going through the stone before entering or exiting your body.

Quick Usage: I realize we often don’t have time to sit or lay down for meditation. In that case that you just need some time to quiet the mind, simply find a moment to focus on your breath, breathing in and out. As you do, if you can, place the worry stone near you chakra and imagine that you are breathing through it as the air goes in and out.

Everyday Moral Support

Worry Stone: Place your worry stone in your pocket or maybe your purse (although I tend to think the closer to the body the better). Simply having this with you will enhance your own characteristics that are tied to the property of the stone (i.e. Courage with Tiger’s Eye, Security/Sense of Belonging with Bloodstone), but adding the following pieces will provide a richer experience:

  • Set your intention. With this set, your strongest intention would lie within the field of security and belonging. Don’t know how to set an intention? Click here for a guide
Once your intention is set, allow your worry stone to act as a reminder of that intention throughout the day as you look at it or even fidget with it. As you do, simply repeat your intention to yourself or share with others if you so choose.
  • In any moment when you feel as if you need a little extra support, simply rub the stone between your thumb and forefinger along the groove. As you do, become concious of your breath and concentrate on your intention. You’ll be amazed how relaxing this simple act can be. It has been proven that worry stones, like fidget spinners, are great for anxiety, stress and even ADHD.
